Welcome back to Football Fridays at the Tavern or F.F.A.T.T. as we like to call it. Hard to believe at three weeks in we are a quarter fo the way through the regular season in high school football. This week Von and Art jump right in and talk about the "Escape at Skip Pope" as Cherokee survives Sequoyah. We talk with Coach Teter and Coach Shaw. We also dive into the "venerable" Bishop Sycamore story as well as reveal our Tropical Smoothie Player of the Week. Then of course we review all four games this week.

We thought that the interview with Jerry Don could stand on its own. Art also had some comments that he wanted to make around the Valdosta documentary being released today. The question I will ask anyone coaching or wanting to coach high school or youth sports: are you in it so everyone can see how great and how smart you are or are you in it to impact lives in a positive way...(the latter can be done regardless of your winning percentage as a coach) So perhaps we should evaluate what and who we glorify.
